For the first time in history, someone is facing the consequences of infringing copyright law! Shinobu Yoshida, japanese content creator, has been found guilty of copyright infringement. But what does that mean, really? What did he actually do? And what kind of punishment is he facing? Join us as we do a deep-dive into the case, determining it's causes, development and ramifications. While sharing let's plays of videogames has been a staple of internet content creation for over a decade, when talking about visual novels, it's best to reconsider what is acceptable under the rules of fair use. Not that it matters on this case, given that Japan's law doesn't work as you'd expect. But if mr. Yoshida was sentenced for breaking copyright law, who could be next?
